The Anglo-Belgian Military Medals Society is established to bring collectors from Belgian and Commonwealth medals together. This society takes up the task to preserve, research, collect and display all Belgian military medals and groups of every Commonwealth medals wich include Belgian reciepts of uk medals, British reciepts of Belgian medals, British soldiers who were captured, wounded or killed in Belgium and many more. "This club has the duty to band in friendship and devotion to our hobby and the search for knowledge and wisdom by commitment and devotion to us all, so that we increase this devotion to that cause, for which they gave the last full measure of devotion; that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain. We must make sure that the radian companionship still roads around in steadfast ranks of power and in remembering these heroic souls. May these men wich lived up such splendid valor, dranked in so much blood, get the solemn pride for wich they laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of Freedom. May these Belgian fields, who held the bones of these men, hold there mighty secret, until the great day's of revelation. "

The Anglo-Belgian Military Medals Society is Belgian medal society who shares medals, medalgroups, collector items and knowledge of collecting from her members.
The Anglo-Belgian Military Medals Society is established from a small group from the simular brotherhood 'The Gentleman Collectors Club, wich was established by the end of 2017. By the end of August 2018 it was clear that the medal collectors had to have there own website, because of the many information and items it had to offer.
Since many years our members had good relationships with many British archives and respected British medaldealers, wich makes the search for the right pieces for our collections easier and the search for information on the recipients or familly members a lot smoother.
The website of the ABMMS offers articles of important persons and medals, has a library of all official Belgian decorations from the Belgian Revolution 1830 until the Second World War combined with difference by makers, models and types we come across. We even have our small database of Belgian military medal recipients, like the recipients of the Iron Cross 1830 and many others. The only different about our database from great sites as ancestry, great war records, Fold3 and many others is that it is free every member and non-member.
Members of our society have the privilige to buy medals that are offered in our Members Only online shop. Here members will offer there medals they like to sell.
The ABMMS will plan annual events, like exhibitions, seminars, and small publications on medals and hope to be recognized and respected by other medal societys of the world.

This includes medalcard (if a British recipient), relatives, rank, unit, campaign battles and other military records (if availlable). Do consider that the ABMMS only search soldiers who served until 1945.
A one page not will be sent by email to the requester and always has a PDF format.
A FULL REPORT
If you like to research your families military history from the battle of Waterloo until the second world war, the full report has the best to offer. Here we will research all the relatives who served in the Belgian or even Foreign country, combined with the medals they recieved.
All records will be processed in a presentation book, somelike the photobooks that can be made in photostores. The ABMMS will handle the lay-out, texts, pictures, resources and other attachements of the research.
The fee for making the report depends on how big the research area is, the choice of finish the requester wants on the book, for examble does he wish a Hard- or Softcover for his report? How many copies does he like to order and many more. This is way we always like to discuss the data with the requestor, to determine the range of the research and make a quotation of the fees afterwoods, when all details have been discussed.
A full report can only requested by a member of the ABMMS. If a Non-member wish to invoke at our services he will be charged 20 euro (membership fee) on top of the quotation that is given for the research.
STARTING A MEDAL COLLECTION ?
If you are thinking of starting a Belgian or British medal collection, the ABMMS will provide free consultancy to there members. every medalcollector has to decide for themself wich war, campaign, unit or country he wish to collect. Afterwards he need to decide wich budget he likes to spent on his collection and in wich category his budget has the most to offer. Not all of us are as fortunate as Lord Ashcroft who has a collection of 213 Victoria Crosses, Britains highest military award for gallantry and presumed the highest award for gallantry in the word. However, if your cwish to start a collection of just has one award or an entire army, whe always will consult you with the best advice we can offer for your situation.
FRAMING, DISPLAYING, CONSERVING MEDALS
The display of a collection is what gives the collector the selfesteem and satisfaction of continuing to collect. This distinguishes the collector from the investor who keeps his medals in safe in the bank. The display also needs to attract the interest of passersby and visiters of the collection. A good display offers a clear view of the medals combined with the information or image of the recipients. It also has to provide the right protection for sunlightfading of the ribbon, damages that can occur from falling or scratshes and last but not least, thieves. Remember that medals are sparkeling and shiny objects and could have a large value. This makes them just as attractive to steal as jewelry or gold coins.
We like to share our mutual intrest and experience in displaying medals to all of our members.
PROVIDING IMAGES FOR PUBLICATIONS
Are you making a publication on a soldier, war event or other subject that includes the military and do not have the (images of the) medals the awardee to provide to your publication, you may aks us for the images you like to publish. If you like to publish a group of medals wich are in national museums or archives, we like to reconstruct the group for you, but you need to mention that the group is reconstructed and not the actual medalgroup.
